Mission: To help build purposeful and emotionally resilient lives through the practices of insight, mindfulness, and intentional living.

Vision: To integrate western-oriented insight and cognitive based therapies with research supported eastern-oriented therapeutic approaches, focusing on present centered awareness and sensory integration.

Philosophy: Just like your health, your mental health depends on multiple factors like your genes, life circumstances, and most importantly, the hundreds of small choices you make each day about how to think, behave, care for yourself, and interact with others and the world.

Alissa also has a special interest in helping people heal from anxiety-related disorders and trauma; she worked for several years in an emergency and trauma center, and has recently discovered compelling research that suggests yoga  and mindfulness practices can be deeply healing for some trauma survivors. Working with LGBT clients is another one of her special clinical interests.
